Just saw on Channel 10 news where a light twin had made an emergency landing on a road near Moorabbin.

Believe it was a PA44 with a nose gear that wouldn't extend and landed at Moorabbin Airport. The instructor did a great job and both the instructor and student are ok.

Yep was an oxford PA-44 VH-OXG, Instructor did an absolutely splendid job getting it down. Nose wheel failed to extend, looks like the props and the engines were saved as well

Ok my bad - I took it that it was down on a main road because of being reported by the news chopper.

Moe important what was the cause of the nose gear not going down?

I was wondering the same thing, considering how simple the PA-44 gear system is. No up-locks, just hydraulic pressure holds it up, simple emergency system that dumps the pressure and lets it free fall.

It looked like there was no extension at all so must have been jammed up some how.
