Renewal of TR with expired medical Class 1

Hi,

I am actually flying with an OACI ATPL and I wish to renew my TR in my EASA license. Unfortunately I have my EASA Class 1 medical expired due to travel restrictions in the UE but I have valid OACI class 1 medical. Somebody Could Clarify me If it is necessary a EASA medical class 1 to renew TR under EASA ?

The only CAA's in Europe requiring a valid EASA Class I to revalidate a TR are Spain and Portugal. Rest of CAA's don't require it.

You could try talking with them and requesting an exemption to this particular rule due to CoVid travel restrictions, but in the case of the Spanish CAA (soy Espanol), you can guess the answer...
