Can an employer, such as airline demand to see personal medical records. Or is it voluntary on basis that you personally declare fit and nothing to hide.
Doesn't concern me but question asked elsewhere.

I have had 3 occasions where student pilots have admitted to taking anti depressants for instance and asked me if this would effect getting medical. They all got medical cert. in the end.
Funnily enough they were all ex Policemen.

Some airlines do, some don't. BA ask you to take a form to your GP on joining the company. On this form your GP is required to detail all significant medical history. Depression would fall under that category. I believe this was a new requirement post Germanwings

Failing to declare medical history to a regulatory body is a criminal offence. Once you start down that path there is no going back and prosecutions happen regularly.
