Several local newspapers of Berlin report on their websites that a Ryanair plane on its way from Dublin to Krakow had declared an emergency and landed at Berlin-Brandenburg airport shortly after 8 PM on sunday, may 31 30. A spokesman of the airport said there was no technical issue but a "police incident". Due to the ongoing operation it is not possible at the moment to disclose the exact nature of the issue, said a police spokeswoman.

Apparently a bomb threat. Nothing suspicious found. No-one forcibly removed (sorry, couldn't resist it)

BER has a night curfew and this was lifted for the Ryanair aircraft apparently. From what I read, the aircraft was able to continue to Krakow at 0400 Local.

And FR has a base, albeit small, at BER T5.
The terminal (ex-SXF) is now closed due to reduced ops so all RYR ops has been transferred to T1 at BER.

Even with a night curfew for scheduled ops german commercial airports are required to accept emergencies 24/7.

Apologies I have only just seen your reply.

Albeit this may be true, BER does not have a 24-7 manned ATC due to the night curfew. How does an EMER aircraft land in this situation? Non controlled or remain on radar/approach freq?

They are manned 24/7. Just in case. The same goes for the fire brigade. Anytime a transiting flight might need to land for some reason. The curfew is for scheduled flights only. Other movements might very well happen at night.

I assume this information can be verified against the AIP?
