Hi

Does anyone know why this aircraft bound for Vancouver diverted to Dublin, It was showing red on Flightradar24, It’s the first time I have seen this.

It started to squawk 7700 after making a turn towards Dublin and had commenced decent. Then got a straight in approach to land on 10. No messing around.

Apparently a tyre problem;

And in typical media fashion another version of events, wrong in almost every detail;

A flight has had to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport this afternoon. The flight was travelling from Dublin to Paris.

The Air France jet returned to Dublin shortly after take-off.

The aircraft requested an emergency landing at around 12:50pm as a precautionary measure after taking off at 12:30pm.

It had to make the landing following engine failure.

Emergency services at the airport were on stand-by during the landing.

Passengers were accommodated on an alternative plane at 2:30pm to resume their journey.

you did notice that both of these are years old incidents?

The original post is about the 777 which landed this morning.

It was a medical diversion, which is quite a common reason for 7700 squawks.

It is indeed - around 90% when I last looked as CAA stats.

Thanks Mac

I did wonder if it was depressurisation as it seemed to get to 12k fairly quickly, it’s the first time I have see this, I appreciate the info.
