AirTask have just published their schedule for flights within Shetland for summer 2021 and winter 2021/2022
I know Outer Skerries lost air service in 2015, but it seems Papa Stour has gone the same way. Along with Scatsta closing, this leaves just Lerwick, Sumburgh, Fair Isle and Foula seeing regular flights

Would l be right in thinking that this means Shetland will have fewer connections between the islands than they had in the 1930s?

Papa Stour was taken out of the PSO at the last round - it only had two flights on a Tuesday and those rarely had passengers booked. I seem to recall hearing that the island's ferry service was being increased slightly to compensate and its removal also made way for some improvements in the other service timetables to Foula and Fair Isle. The Saturday Sumburgh-Fair Isle has also fallen by the wayside. Island volunteer staffing of the RFFS has been an ongoing issue - it was difficult enough in Foula where the air service really is a lifeline but that seems to be much better now than over the last couple of years.
