Hi,

I was reading through the application form for BAE systems in Jerez. It says a JAA Class 1 (UK or Danish) is nessisary. I have a Class 1 (Irish). Does this mean I have wasted 600 quid and I have to go get a Uk registered one?

Thanks,
F

i think not!

JAA is JAA. CLASS1 in ireland is the same as class1 in england germany or every other jaa country.
As long as it is JAA!!

I have a buddy training in a UK FTO under an Irish Class One, so no, your money wasn't wasted.

Suspect the application form was printed before Ireland was JAA compliant.

The Irish JAA medical is as good as every other JAR-medical. Germany has no JAR/medicals yet, so do not think about this one!!!

I do know of a case of an irish lad being sent by BAE to gatwick to do the medical there, but that was a year or two ago before the IAA was aligned with JAA properly. You should have no problems, To confirm it get the CAA in Gatwick to assure you and get a name to use as reference when speaking to BAE.
Good luck
