I think the lump is an electronics enclosure - maybe a winch for a long range radio aerial? There is a similar enclosure but with a heat exchanger found on some French Super Pumas.

It's the air conditioner. Airstair doors usually indicate that it was a VIP helicopter and an air conditioner was an option. We had a similar thing on a 332L1 bought from a large company. The view through the main cabin suggests that the rear airstair door that goes under the boom was also there.

The 332 has taken a caning because of the troubles with the 225. It has no value in the offshore market and there is not a lot else.

Same aircraft in 1997/98, when G-Checked in Aberdeen[credit unknown, but i suspect a member of this forum] 'Short 332's are still desirable with external load 'specialists' for basic weight benefits, but i suspect the low price of this example reflects its current certification status or lack of.

The picture outside Bristow is the same one as the first picture in the sales blurb. The rest are of a different machine. Should it have been sitting around for twenty years I shudder to think of the inspections.

You can’t sell Ex-military spares for civil use (except for ex-military on the civil register):
a) Their history is often inaccurate/unknown
b) They don’t have an OEM/MRO Form 1

I know, I used to have that problem with a SF260 that was none mil, I was referring to other military operators that have Puma in their fleets powered by the same engines and drive systems.

Nutloose, slightly pedantic, i know, but that is a Super Puma AS332, not Puma SA330.

Most forces with AS 330 are looking at replacing them. Those with AS332 might, if they are particularly short, have a look at it. but I cannot think of a civil operator that would take it on. For underslung loads the gearbox and barbecue plate are very critical on cycles which has affected its use in that area.
