Submarine officer Claire Jenkins ‘filmed X-rated videos’ at Faslane

A Royal Navy officer is under investigation after she was caught making indecent films with her partner, a leading seaman, at the Faslane nuclear submarine base.

Lieutenant Claire Jenkins, 29, who has commanded a team of sailors on HMS Artful, the Astute-class attack submarine, is accused of selling the content on an adult website.

The warfare officer, who uses the name Cally Taylor on the website, regularly posts explicit pictures and videos with her boyfriend, Liam Doddington, also based at Faslane.

It is understood that a number of their films may have been shot inside the naval base, home to the Trident missile-armed nuclear submarine fleet, and sold on Only Fans. The Royal Navy has opened an investigation over allegations that she has brought the navy into disrepute.

A navy source told The Times: “It appears an officer serving on board a submarine has in her private time taken photos of herself in various stages of undress.” They said that the images and films “do look suspiciously like they were taken in military accommodation”.

“When it became apparent she has filmed on the base, this is a clear discipline issue. She has stepped over the line and she is bringing the navy into disrepute.”......

Jenkins is currently on leave before she is given her next assignment. She is unlikely to be sacked, although sources said that she would likely be disciplined.

Her films came to the navy’s attention last week. When the allegation was put to her, she admitted to it..........

I take it these films are unlikely to be given a certificate "U-Boat" by the British Board of Film Censors...

All perfectly acceptable as long as misssiles were not armed and all safety pins fitted.
Pretty standard stuff on a Boeing, which came equipped with stirrips and grab handles, which were not for decoration.

Or was it classed as work?
An ideal situation for Doddington to riposte “It’s a job and someone had to do it!”

The big no no is the fact that her "leading man" is also a "Leading Seaman". (I am assuming that it is not a typo).

I remember back in the days of yore when the attractive female 2nd Lt adjutant of the White Helmets motorcycle display team was given a formal warning for being too familiar by socialising with the non-commissioned members of the team. Her response was to pose in full (gradually becoming more un)dress uniform for Mayfair magazine. Her career was cut very short after that.

I think you need to realise you are living in the 21st Century now. Relationships between officers and ORs is not Verboten, certainly not in the RAF. If it effects work, discipinary proceedures apply like any workplace. If one was found doing what she did on the property of my civilian company , it would be dismial as gross misconduct. It should be the same here. Flood tube one.

In the late 1980's my cousin (Female Cpl at the time) was discovered to be having a relationship with the (unmarried) RSM. His CO offered him the usual incentives such as Omagh or Mount Pleasant with 24 hours to pack his gear, but being a bigger and better man than the Army deserved, and past the 22 year point, he decided to leave (they lived happily ever after by the way). Fast forward to 3 years ago, my nephew, a Captain in a teeth arm married an RMP Cpl and they moved into a delightfully compact, but bijou, Officer's MQ. They attend Mess functions and seem to live a relatively normal existence. I am amazed and pleased that the Victorian morals have been kicked into touch and we are at least in the twentieth century, if not quite the twenty-first.

P.S. I feel the wayward submariner's story will end in sadness and discharged seamen somewhere along the way.

The services still take an exceptionally dim view of relationships beginning when one party is in the chain of command of the other. As indeed do many civilian firms: see the recent exit of a McDonalds senior executive, for example. A contemporary RSM hooking up with one of his corporals could well get the same treatment described by Two's In.

The flight I was serving in the very early 2000's had a female JEngO. Whom was married to a Sgt still serving. He was a little older I believe. I did meet him at a function once. Of course their workplaces were seperate. As I mentioned, if it effects the workplace then there is massive issues as you have rightly pointed out. Being a submarine or ships company would certainly be a conflict of interests that should be treated as you say. This case is a bit stronger in the resignation and dismissal stakes (I was going to say dishonourable discharge :E).
