Michael Moore claims that there were no helicopters over the Capital on Jan 6th during the occupation of the Capital building.
21:00 https://youtu.be/tQCsVVVknzQn "up in the sky, not a single helicopter.."
He compares this with the national guard helicopters present during black lives matter protests.
Whilst it is understandable national guard helicopters would not respond quickly unless on standby, what was the flight clearance/airspace situation with DC metro police, other law enforcement agencies.
Flight radar shows a patrol around White House, shared by Metro police and parks police helicopters in the afternoon, but generally very little activity during daylight hours and a then tight orbits at 8pm and from 9.30pm to 10.30pm around the Capital building by the Metro police.

I could imagine every spare inch of the area is covered by security cameras so an aerial perspective is not as essential as in other cities?

This recent article reports on the NG helicopters...https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/who-decides-when-there-are-helicopters-experts-weigh-national-guard-n1253599

Perhaps the issue is that a number of the US police and military are Trump supporters.........

Whether they were Trump supporters, or whether they were acting under orders of the sociali--er--democrats to create the situation, the important take-away is that the demo--oh, the hell, with it--the socialists and their lapdog media sycophants are doing a beautiful job of playing it up like it is literally the end of the world. Because, you know, 14 or so days of rioting, 19 or so deaths, and nobody is sure how much damage, is OK, and so is "inciteful" language by any number of socialist politicians, but barely a tithe of that at the Capitol and you literally have to pull out all the stops, of course. And where are the riots for Ashli Babbit? Oh, wait, conservatives don't do that sh*t. That alone tells a story right there, except the media won't pick up on it. It's probably worth noting that the UK media does a more even-handed job of it by a long, long chalk.

Obligatory and somewhat related helicopter content, also demonstrating US media slant, bias and hypocrisy: the US media is all aflutter about lack of helicopters in DC while at the same time fanning fires about spooky helicopter op's in Los Angeles:

Standing by for the how-wrong-I-am lectures from crab and BR, now...I'd rather chat about the cool helicopter stuff going on in LA ;)

Perhaps the issue is that a number of the US police and military are Trump supporters.........Are you calling into question the duty, honor and integrity of the entire profession? Even in jest such a statement is foolish at best.

aa777888 - I'm not going to lecture, it's not my country where policies that do good for people are seen as bad (or socialist in your terminology), it's not my country where armed people storm parliament because someone can't handle losing a fair election and it's not my country where elected politicians aid and abet insurrection, damaging democracy in the eyes of the world as they claim to be defending it.

Freedom comes with responsibility and free speech isn't a right to lie just to get your own way.

And I'll mention helicopters in the last line because I would be worried, as a military commander, how many of my people have divided loyalties.
