Hello
If a pilot has performed a manoeuvre in response to a GPWS / EGPWS alert , what would the appropriate report to the ATC be to notify that the rapid climb was due to this ?
Someone said ‘ terrain activation’ , but neither the ICAO radiotelephony manual , nor the UK CAA CAP 413 ( radiotelephony manual ) mention such thing

Good spot C.M I understand that this has been highlighted recently to the CAA and that something is in hand.

"Holy **** approach was that a mountain we just passed"

Really though anything that conveys the point is fine...Something like "Approach callsign 123 climbing to 3000ft due terrain avoidance"
If the aircraft has descended below minimum vectoring altitute, and is under radar control, the ATCO is going to be glad that you're climbing back above it, whatever the reason for being below it was.

Depends on if it's IFR/VFR ,what class of airspace, and who is accepting responsability for terrain avoidance, ATC or PIC.

From the controllers part, "climb immediately" comes to mind if we get a MSAW on the surveillance system and action is required, depending on situation with additional instructions/information attached.

But just as the pilots, I cannot find anything specific... so the "immediately" come from "avoiding action" in relation to traffic.

So I guess we're in "plain language"-land?
