That is very sad news.

It is a shame the ABC had to use a file photo after the writer, Keane Bourke contradicts the photo when he writes " including firefighters — were seen inspecting the burnt-out remains of the plane."

Even a cursory study of the photo shows no sign of fire at all.

Mr Bourke needs to study harder for his journalism degree, particularly in the area of accuracy.

There’s only 3 of these in Australia to the best of my knowledge with only 1 being factory built. The tail had a habit of falling off in the early days, but they resolved that after a UK incident. They are incredibly light weight, you can carry a wing under your arm on your own.

CC. I think you owe someone an apology. The photo is accurate.

The photo is probably accurate but the descriptions online of fire engulfing the aircraft seem to be wrong ??

"A short time after the crash, emergency crews — including firefighters — were seen inspecting the burnt-out remains of the plane."

Unless it caught fire after the photos and videos were taken.... It doesnt look "Burnt Out"

Condolences to all involved.

Oh that's tragic😞
Was for sale for a long time, went to auction like a few others recently, hasn't flown in ages if I recall. RIP aviator 😞

Fairly well known and respected pilot in the west to many. Will also hit back home, was an RJ pilot at American also. RIP
