PNG Air - ATR 72 aircraft - engine fire alert at Mt Hagen on Wed 23rd Dec

The PNG AIC is investigating a report of a PNG Air ATR that landed at Mt. Hagen after the crew received an engine fire warning. The AIC has labelled this as a serious occurrence.
Media reports engine fire extinguisher discharged and the aircraft continued the approach to land.
Event was logged as Wed 23rd Dec. Aircraft still at Mt Hagen.
