I hope they had warmed up before they were winched vertically to the helicopter - you run the risk of the warm blood around the core draining into the legs if not.

Torres Strait, mate, just south of the equator, water is pretty warm...but a valid point, a Stokes lift is preferred.

I'm surprised the crocs didn't get them first, but I suppose the crocs were busy eating sharks.
