Well, its finally happened, I was watching the film on Film 4 this afternoon and noticed for the first time they have removed any reference to the name of Guy Gibson's dog. I have watched it a few times over the past few years and wondered when it might happen, another piece of editing wrapped up as political correctness as a friend of mine once said.

The film is being run again on 11 am this Friday morning on Film 4.

For the full effect, perhaps read the recent release CHASTISE by Max Hastings. Tells it like it was - warts n all ! A superb read, with or without the approval of the PC brigade.

Every...single...time....

Jesus, change the record will you. Every time the damn film is mentioned someone has to bang on about the bloody dog's name!

It. Does. Not. Matter.

Brave men died, brilliant men and women came together to develop and produce incredible machines and plan daring missions.

Move on!

(By the way, the edited version of the film has been around for years)

Well said Turin! The usual suspects will be out in force soon enough. I reckon a few pages and the mods will stop or delete the thread just like the one in the mil section.

The memory of the brave souls who gave so much is not diminished one iota by editing or deleting that one aspect of the story. Times change and in this respect for the better.
