For heavens sake do everyone a favour and just ban these pieces of absolute **** in this country.

Sick of reading about the things. Just be done with it CASA.

Which "things" are you referring to, the Foxbat? What exactly is wrong with the Foxbat?

This particular Foxbat has had a string of engine failures in recent months.

Nothing wrong with the Foxbat, a very reliable and robust aircraft ? Later reports say fuel starvation and a spluttering engine etc.

Very dramatic photo here

Oh dear, is it stalled in that picture? Does look like full elevator.

Could be 5 knots above stall speed, so they can manoeuvre with impunity 😉

That looks looks like one of my standard arrivals!

Luckily they stall pretty darn slow or it may have been a very different outcome.

But surely if you keep pulling, you'll avoid the ground?? :ugh:

This looks like the aircraft in happier days.

I always thought the rotax engines were pretty reliable? (that is compared to 2010 Jabiru)

It seems that it is fuel supply related. The same aircraft has had 2 previously reported incidents regarding fuel issues that required emergency landings at Bankstown. Obviously, they have not been able to fix the problem in the last two events.

No engine will go properly without fuel

With progressive attitudes like this the early J3 Cubs and Aeroncas would have never been allowed to reach certification either.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Foxbat and the engine is highly reliable provided all vital fluids supplied. I can think of a few Continental and Lycomings that have proved temperamental over the years.

Well said, Ndegi. Lighten up, PoppaJo, and take some objectivity pills.
