I work as a volunteer at Bournemouth Aircraft Museum and in my break time I sort of peruse the aircraft comings and goings. So the question is, there are normally around 7 A340 at the airport and looking at them my eye tells me that the inboard engines are angled a degree or two down from the horizontal axis of the aircraft. Are my eyes right or am I deceived?
If they are angled down then I guess the follow up question is why?
Over to you please.

Stressed,

I've seen a couple of photos of the European Aviation A340s and something makes the inboard engines look misaligned with the outboards, but I think it's just an optical illusion.

Maybe the wing twist in the cruise aligns the outboards with the inboards?
