Austrian to Get 787’s

On the grapevine and rumours from several of my friends high up at OS, It is strongly rumoured that OS will receive the first 8 787-9’s which were ordered by the LH group. These will be delivered in 2023, which is a delay to the original delivery dates due to the Covid Pandemic.

They will be delivered in 3-class configuration, 31J, 32Y+ and 235Y.

Feel free to discuss below, but my guess would be that the first routes will be EWR & ORD. A perfect aircraft for their fleet now that they have gotten rid of the 767 & 777.

Didn't LH even show computer pictures in Austrian livery when they ordered them?
Still not sure. LH group seems to refocus their long range business to Frankfurt and is not in any offensive mode for a while. The 777 is clearly too big for Austrian in today's market and the 767 is getting too old. So that might be a reason to still think about it.
