Hi, I am low hours type rated on 737 based in Europe. I have application in with Cathay for the freighter 747 but am also interested in Hong Kong Express. Would it help if I pay for an Airbus 320 rating? Is anyone else out there looking at doing this and needing a sim buddy?

Not a chance, even the type rated guys who have couple thousand of hours in the bus have not been called for interview since january 2020. And now with this pandemic going on I bet there's a lot more Airbus type rated pilot out there who will be more likely to be called compared to you. I know its brutal answer, but its the reality right now. Best of luck for you.
