My question is why so long to bring charges especially seeing as the victim has accepted an insurance company payment?

A tourist who took a sightseeing trip to a glacier on the West Coast had one of her fingers partially amputated and other fingers crushed while getting into a helicopter with moving rotors.

Alpine Guides Fox Glacier Ltd, trading as Fox Glacier Guiding, and Mountain Helicopters Fox Glacier Ltd have been charged in relation to the incident on March 24, 2017.

Both tourism operators are charged with exposing an individual to risk of harm (https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/106879445/helicopter-and-glacier-guiding-companies-charged-after-tourist-injured), while Fox Glacier Guiding is also charged with failing to preserve the site of an incident after the tourist was injured.

The woman who was injured was part of a group of tourists who took a sightseeing trip to Fox Glacier. Fox Glacier Guiding offers hikes and ice climbing on Fox Glacier in Westland. The only access to the glacier is by helicopter.

Did they counter-sue this idiot for making them spend money on an engineering inspection after the finger-strike?
