Hi all,
I have a question for Hong Kong and CAAC licence holders, this is for my research. For licence renewal, other than paying for the cost of medical examination, are there other fees that you have to pay? For example, admin fee to schedule the doctor appointment, admin fee to obtain your renewed licence? Would appreciate any info.

Hi Farman Biplane, Thanks for the prompt response.
May i ask what is the HK$160 for? Admin fee by CAD for processing the medical certificate? Because I understand CAD issues lifetime licences, just went through CAD entire website, CAD Air Navigation document 54.
Thanks mate

CAD used to issue 10 year licences. That had to be paid for at every renewal. And fro memory the very first issue was more expensive. Probably recouping the cost of that big green book. Think that has changed of late to lifetime issue. They’ll recover that in increased fees, one assumes. Or maybe they won’t as there may well be less of us.
Suspect the 160 is their admin fee, embedded in to the doctors’ fee, who technically wears two “ hats”. Your avmed doctor on the one hand, and a CAD appointee on the other.
All other specials, other than the basic medical, ie ECG, audiogram, opthalmic review etc are borne by the pilot.

HK licence renewal is now $785.
For those that haven’t got the lifetime licence yet.
