I hope that this will serve as a message to participants in an air crash investigation that "the truth will set you free" or at least enable one to avoid incarceration. In my experience, most pilots are relatively honest (except when hangar flying?), and would not do any thing that would compromise aviation safety, such as lying to NTSB Investigators. The problem is, that over the years, and especially during the 1980s (the Cowboy era of drug running), more and more folks entered the profession as just a job and a possible pathway to riches. This resulted in the pool of relatively honest pilots being diluted with a horde of dirtbags, such as the pilot who starred in this crash.
