Apparently Qantas engineers pulled a lot of stuff off the last few Boeing 747s before they were flown into retirement and it'll now be auctioned off to staff and the public: https://www.executivetraveller.com/news/qantas-boeing-747-memorabilia-auction

Looks like the carts don't have QF markings?

you'd really hope they are telling the truth they are what they say they are.....sell off 1000 old crappy carts from who knows where and generate $1.4M out of it.

All sold out! Either 1,000 QF tragics are a grand each poorer or somebody has “cornered the market” either way some bright thinking from someone within QF- marketing or engineering?.. $1-1.2mill into the coffers. (Ok- half carts at $974, full carts $1400)
Now they DID include a rather large number of wine mini-bottles, although with short “drink by” dates.
what else could they sell off?
avionics? Cheap upgrade for your Jabiru.
Seats? Yes I can understand the interest but really, would you want an economy row for your mancave? The most sat-on seats in the world when you think about it.
captains seat? Now you’re talking! $5,000? $10,000?
galley ovens and microwaves? Forget it, clunky and power supply issues.

just on a sad note. I attended the Ansett moving auction at Tullamarine and was so shocked to see staff sitting at THEIR OWN desks and determined to make a winning bid for them.

They should double in price in 65 years, just like the Constellation L-1049 ones today, that's if the held a sale in the trading post those days.

Is a 747 cart any different from the standard, interchangeable cart used on every other airliner? The leppo wouldn't be having everyone on would he??
