I am surprised this has not found its way onto Pprune yet..... Some remarkable footage from Nis in Serbia, Looking at the Flightradar24 playback it departed at 17:02Z on Tuesday and it took 7 minutes to reach FL100 and 30 minutes to reach FL300.

It's a short video on Facebook. Unable to embed the link here. Not displayed on this site.
It's about the still active Rada Airlines Il-62 freighter. It used the full (2500 m) runway on takeoff up to the last feet.
The climb over the hill coming next looks like the challenge.

30 minutes to reach FL300 is pretty good for this generation of jet. In my DC-8 days taking 45 minutes to climb to FL280 at high temps and weights was pretty normal.

You talking about this?

Edit: ok, your link was not showing up. Crazy departure, reminds me of that 727 Cargo in South America which eventually busted!

So what sort of heavy stuff do they load at Nis?

Must have been very heavy , IL62 nice clean wing designed for long range Ops, Shannon-Havana , Moscow to Beijing . Such a scary-the only word for it- take off from Serbia to where? one assumes back in Russia somewhere . Great video even more dramatic than the legendary ' Vodka burner at Canbara'

Why assume back to Russia? The aircraft is on the Belarus register. Anyway, it went from Nis, Serbia, to Zvartnots, Armenia, actual distance flown 2021 Kms.
