I don't know how or why but these pitched up whilst sorting through old papers. I cannot find anything on the internet as it preceded that. Bring back memories to anyone?

Wasn't this Compass Mark II? I seem to recall they had big Airbus in the early 80s.

Compass Mark 1 started with Airbus300’s in 1990.
Compass Mark 11 (originally Southern Cross) started in 1992 with MD82’s

I'm totally lost. There must be a story somewhere.

Still 2 of the best place that I have worked. If it wasn't for the connection between Sir Pete A. and Mr Bob H. Ansett would not have made it past Christmas 1991

I'm totally lost. There must be a story somewhere.

FED, Australia has a history of failed 3rd airlines. Compass had a couple of attempts and went bust. We currently have Virgin Australia about to do the same thing but they are the 2nd airline. Recently, a regional turboprop airline called Regional Express or Rex has said that they may have a go at an intercity jet service. Memories of Compass. Its very topical.

Thanks for posting the brochures. I am sure that it brings memories for some. I hope that explains it!

Those airfares were cut-throat back then too! I can't understand how pilot wages (and everyone else's) have been on a decline since then :ugh:

Would normally fly AAE (Australian Air Express) in those days  The 72 would get you to most capitals in Oz for a carton :ok:
