Hi,

Does anyone know why the 757 (VHPQA) avoids the bight when flying between Perth and Melbourne?

Cheers

Here is the 60 mins EDTO circle (http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=YMML-ypph&MS=wls&DU=nm&E=60&EV=389&EU=kts) which as sundaun suggests, may explain it.

I can see & understand the arguments built into the URL for the range shading you've used but can't find where they are on the GCMap site to actually insert them. Can you help out with how you used them?

Here is another version. (http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=YMML-YPPH+&R=400nm%40yaye%2C+400nm%40ypkg%2C+400nm%40ypad&MS=wls&DU=nm&E=60&EV=389&EU=kts)

Just scroll down the page and you can insert what you want.
Or go to the Menu. (http://www.gcmap.com/)

ETOPS doesn't apply to freighters, the P stands for Passengers as in Engines Turning Or Passengers Swimming

It is not called ETOPS anymore it is now EDTO Which is Extended Diversion Time Operations and yes, it does apply to freighters.
