Appears there were engine problems and he stalled when he almost made it back.

Appears to be quite a “modern” Osprey from 2014 with a Lycoming 320.

I just missed out on buying one of those about 8 years ago, built 20 years ago. It had a Jabiru 6 in it. Very different to fly with the engine up top. Push the throttle forward and pull the stick back to compensate for it. Not what you’re normally used to.
