The USN T-45 replacement won’t have to be able to land or take-off from an aircraft carrier.

The U.S. Navy has published a request for information for a replacement of the T-45 carrierborne jet trainer on May 14.The new aircraft should be ready by 2028 or sooner. It has to fly at up to 41,000ft and faster than 600kts.

The lifespan of the aircraft is to be at least 14,400 hours with 400 hours of flying each year.

It will only need to make touch-and-go on board carrier decks and the Navy does not has a requirement for it trap on aircraft carriers or undergo catapult launches.

Does not time flies when you are having fun as the Navy are looking for replacement for their Boeing T-45C Goshawk already for it is in its third decade of service shortly.
