Did they use that scale for Tom Cruise in Top Gun 2? Seems about right.

Absolutely brilliant
A couple of years back I saw (Dunsfold w & w) 2 models...I would guess of similar size to this, painted as reds and did a very impressive display.

It's not that much smaller than a Gnat.

People make experimental 3/4 scale Mustangs and Spitfires with V8s etc, and they also make RC sale Jets. Am I the only one thinking that if they'd made that 60% instead of 40% they could have got a pilot inside? Why do we never see scale manned jets?

Very, very impressive. How about painting it red, build another 8 and you could be really onto something!

There's another video of the same aircraft, but with forward facing views from wingtip mounted cameras and one on the inside at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNoETCRi_20
Impressive! And in the mid 90's I was involved with some RC guys, one of whom had a massive (i.e. needed transporting in a Transit van) Catalina which needed to remotes to work all the bits and pieces. That was a lovely sight.

If you think that is impressive you should see the HUGE Concorde flown in Germany last year.
Just Google Jet Power RC Concorde and you should see the video.
Since I fly three big RC Hawks myself, two at 1:4.5 scale and one at 1:3.5 scale, the latter with 50 pounds of thrust I can assure you the key to such rock steady flight js the auto-stabilisation created by highly effective mini gyros acting on two or three control surfaces, either in damping mode or attitude hold, a bit like the earlier Boeing control wheel steering system.
Below is my big Hawk getting airborne, XX310, last seen in the Reds but one I flew at Valley about a hundred years ago, or so it seems !!

Fantastic! But now I want to see the two hunters in the background do their stuff.

I find the engineering and airmanship quite impressive in these videos.
