I am researching now for 'Fleet Air Arm Boys' volume 3 - helicopters. This will cover every type from the Hoverfly to the Wildcat, and I am seeking contact with aircrew, maintainers and aircraft handlers willing to contribute their stories, so please do let's hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation!

Well, 577 views so far and nary a reply. What a shy lot you FAA chopper chaps are.

861 views and not a single bite, so clearly no relevant Fleet Air Arm people visit here. That is a shame as it means the amazing helicopter stories I know are out there will remain untold, and volume 3 of 'Fleet Air Arm Boys' will be stillborn.

You could try Navy wings, navywings.org.uk they have just tried something similar recently and may have some contacts that you could use.

Thanks Matelo99, Navy Wings are already very much on board with the whole 3-book project and are giving tremendous help. In return they will be receiving some proceeds from book sales.

Steve – I have passed on your invitation to one of this ilk, a retired lieutenant commander, but the poor bugger is currently trying to get over Covid-19.

He is said to have scratched his head when, at Port San Carlos in May 1982, he first set eyes on an especially challenging Lynx fix...

Thanks again to those who have responded so far. I am still looking for anyone who flew or maintained Dragonflies.
