Most likely Check B and or A captains then TC, if there is more than line pilots.

Pilot's recency/currency requirements are being monitored and then it's pretty much being given to those who are getting close to reaching those limitations, thus ensuring as many pilots remain as current as possible.
Simple as that.

Sadly the companies are not smart enough to negotiate an hourly rate to keep everyone flying inside the 45 days , only the chosen few who remain on full pay , great system !

Is it true the VA cabin crew will not do a PER return from the East Coast ?

Makes sense to keep a many pilots current on what ever flights are being done, if you have to double crew instead of overnight in a hotel on mainly cargo flights, so be it. We probably won’t hear of pilots being overworked for a few months.
