Don't know whether its because of the much reduced level of aircraft actvity but when I've been looking at Flight Radar 24 these last couple of weeks t've been surprised at the numbers of aircraft that are flying a series of parallel legs, maybe 25-39 miles in length each one followed by a 180 return offset by a mile or two. I've seen these all over Europe and the UK

I've even seen what seem like completetly random tracks and spidery meanderings. There was one inhe English Channel this morning.

Must admit in normal circumstaces I don't look at FR24 as much as I am now, but does anyone know what's happening?
Are flight schools taking the opprtunity to do a lot more training?

All survey flights/mapping/measuring/snooping whatever. The channel one is a UAV operating out of Lydd observing all the good people coming to the promised land from France.

As an aside to this. FR-24 does not respond to my usual icon click on my Mac laptop, only the map and airfields but no a/c. Any expert out there any idea as to why?
Retired ATC, feeling lost.
