Do any current or ex accountants in our ranks have any knowledge of the practicalities as far tax / benifits in kind & VAT etc of running a light aircraft through a company, i.e. a company one owns(not one just set up for the purpose but one that is established in a none aviation field and that has customers all over the UK) . Is it for example, possible for the company to buy (or lease) the aircraft, pay for all maintenance & standing costs providing say you used it for business journeys and paid the company a rate equivalent to what it would cost to rent if and when you used the aircraft for personal flying.

Thanks Capt Spud, it's just the question I have been thinking about, though I was thinking of renting out the aircraft as well. No harm in thinking about these things.
