Just seen on Flight Radar 24 passing overhead a 737 originating at WRT and heading for AKT which, I believe , is Akrotiri Cyprus.

It is not an RAF aircraft so wonder who would be operating it and is it a repatriation flight?

"BAE 201" ? West Atlantic B737-3YO freighter.

It's a regular Warton visitor, to 'Akrotiri then further east to xxxxxxx' (or occasionally another enroute way point).

Now, where in world uses a lot of Warton-built hardware?

I’m not familiar with Warton. Do BAE have a facility there?

It's a regular run. I guess some of these more unusual flights stand out as the skies are so empty currently.

Only since the late '40s when the company was called 'English Electric'; the Canberra and 'real' (Mach 2 capable) Lightning were developed there.

The West Atlantic 737 freighter normally arrives around noon on a Friday.
There is a current NOTAM for Warton showing that the airfield is closed all this week apart from 0930z-1130z on Friday 10th April, which I assume is for the arrival of the 737

That would be Warton / Cyprus and then the Kingdom ?? No masks involved on that one.

Until about 3 years ago BAe were using their own 146s for this operation. Two rotations a week.

Al Yammarah still alive and kicking ? There was a nice office there for that project, and then one (Bld 439) for the Nimrod that never materialised or did but did not work, and the new -wellish aircrew ready room. Have been there a few times.
Cheers
