I am sure one of the competitors in the "What ?" threads will be able to identify this one. All my usual sources have failed.

Looks like a DH80b Hornet Moth. Remember they used everything from the DC3 early on.

Look at the wings again - it's a sesquiplane and in no way a Hornet Moth.

As ever this forum does not disappoint. Searching for the Tachikawa KKY-1 shows it to have been Cirrus Hermes powered and from 1933, having been inspired by licence built Fox Moths. Thanks all.

Amazing. I had never noticed that the Cirrus rotates the other way from a Gipsy!
