The old thorny questions:-

When you start a new subsidiary company within a group should there be group seniority for pilots regarding redundancy/fleet and company changes within the group?

When a pilot volunteers to be seconded to a subsidiary company for a fixed term and a company seniority system is in place where does his seniority lie, with the seconded company if it has been established or his previous company seniority within the group?

If a pilot resigns from one company within the group to immediately take up a permanent position in the new company does he have precedence on seniority over those seconded pilots? After all he is a permanent employee with his new company and presumably off the seniority list with his previous company.

If a pilot in the above position wishes to return to his previous company where does he join? Presumably at the bottom of the seniority system?

My suggestion is for individual company seniority for base, leave bids promotion etc and keep the group seniority for redundancy purposes.

That way you know where you stand with your company and not have anybody joining after you and affecting your command prospects whilst at the same time enjoying some form of security. The down side is when there are massive changes within the group but then this may give the parent group the incentive to get it right in the first place.

Just a few thoughts to kick around
