Just heard of the passing of former RAAF pilot Leigh "Laddie" Hindley who died at Canberra early today. To those he knew him he was a fine officer and a real gentleman. Laddie flew Kittyhawks on operations against Japanese forces in New Guinea in 1944-5 and was a flying instructor at No. 1 Basic Flying Training School at RAAF Base Uranquinty in 1955. He later flew on operations as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam war.

Thanks for the link Cloudee. Laddie checked me out in a Wirraway at RAAF Base Uranquinty NSW when I arrived there as a new QFI in January 1956.
