Question regarding TATL flight times and jetstream? Dub and LHR?

So we see today once again that British airways has flown from JFK to LHR in under 5 hours..

Now, the ewr to dub flight was 5 hours and 3 minutes on a 787.

Could someone please tell me how JFK to LHR was once again shorter than this flight which is about 300 miles shorter?

I always notice this when the jets are high speed. Do ba fly faster than other airlines?

owenc, it may well have something to do with the required routing outbound EWR. Add to that the fact that the 747 cruises a smidge faster than the 787.

Just looked at them on FR24. The EIN flight departs EWR towards the SW and then has to make a more-or-less 270 degree RIGHT turn before heading off in the right direction. The BAW departs JFK in the same SW direction but simply makes a left turn and is off and away.
