Rather strangely there selling of
Parts for Blackhawks, C130's and C17's!(and others)
you would have thought they would be keeping them as still very active in the RAAF.
Am i missing something??

Army Blackhawks are being drawn down in advance of their out of service date of 2022. No such thing as (Australian) Air Force Blackhawks since the late 1990s.

The new Roulette. No. 2 Flying Training School, Pearce, is having the -9 replaced by the -21, so I guess all -9's are for sale. The Roulette aircraft belong to the Central Flying School, East Sale, and their daily task is training instructors, but as any aircraft could be used by the Roulettes depending on serviceability etc all aircraft are painted in their colours, in fact No.2 Flying Training School aircraft are identically painted save for the "R" on the fin, done so aircraft could be swapped around as found necessary..

Interesting - in the C130J spares parts inventory are a bunch of electro-optical sensors for the self-protection/countermeasures system. All auctions start at $1. Buy a PC9 and upgrade it!
There is also mention of PC9 “upgrade kits” - I imagine these are the MIS910 (project name, not parts identifier) ill-fated upgrade project that included LCD display screen, Meggit standby AI and (poor) GPS integration. I believe only two aircraft were ever eventually modded. It was a good upgrade (minus the clunky GPS).
The upgrade kit could be a good buy - the screens were very high quality and the standby was good.

Actually, the RAAF have never operated Blackhawks - they stood up the project to acquire them but the decision to transfer battlefield helicopters to Army control was made before they entered service, and they have always been an Army asset.

I meant 1980s - my bad.

“In February 1988, No 9 Squadron began to re-equip with S-70A Black Hawk helicopters, but after conversion training had been completed, the unit moved to Townsville where it disbanded on 14 February 1989.”

The zero hours new Blackhawk fuselage must be ideal for any country operating them to use in the recovery of a damaged aircraft.

That's so there is no comeback sell it as static with all paperwork even if a flyer. Standard to remove carts, rocket packs etc, some countries forbid them.

"Could somebody explain why they have the Richthofen emblem on the tail?"

Because we (the AIF) shot him down (May he rest in peace).

A cursive R is not really his emblame, add in the richthoften didn't have the southern cross on his,
