One wonders why they don't close 05R/23L completely to get the job done properly. After all that's why the main taxiway was designated 05L/23R.

Interestingly there is a comment from an industry group about the amount of money spent on and in the terminals to which Australians will relate

I don’t know what all the fuss is about, their annual report tells us;
Performance highlights include:
• Total number of passengers increased to 21.1 million, up 2.8% on the previous year
• Operating EBITDAFI up by 9.6% to $554.8 million
• Total profit after tax down 19.5% to $523.5 million
• Underlying profit after tax was up 4.4% to $274.7 million
• Underlying earnings per share rose 3.6% to 22.8 cents
• Final dividend increased 2.3% to 11.25 cents per share
Instead of fluffing around with these runway works we need more ground rent from hotels, more parking and more duty free ground rent. It’s the only way we’re going to see this financial performance continue into the future.
