Good day to all,

I applied via Career.aero for the German Airways/WDL FO position on the EMB 190. I was wondering if anyone here had any news after applying? Date of my application was 16-12-19

What is WDL?

WDL was a charter airline up untill september 2019 I believe, they are now part of the `Zeitfracht group` merged together with LGW (Luftfahrtgeselschaft Walter) under the name German Airways. They fly with EMB190 and BAe146´s from Cologne. A quick Google search will suffice.

Does anybody know if they pay the type rating and what impact this has on the salary? Also to know their roster and if proceeding to the place of duty is possible would be interesting.

I firstly applied for WDL in May 2019, BQ (basic qualification) done in Interpersonal (Hamburg) around mid June, they invited my immediately for the Sim (Passed in August), and then they've shown up now for the interview, after 5 month.
The process could take long time, and, even if it's not written, I have the feeling they prefer people with a good level of German.

Anyway, try every opportunity, apply and go if they invite you, you never can tell.

ACMI operation so expect unstable rosters - reduced t&cs. Bonded TR and Germany is costly -

Straight forward,
interview and 737 FNPT, basic flying skills, for DEC kind of LOFT- some kind of weird- but that’s their style- all manually flown, no automation!
Looking for 20/10,to position during the 10- if I would have known I wouldn’t have gone for the assessment.
We were 4 applicants, all dressed up with tie, assessors all - very- casual - some kind of disrespectful to us-
Low pay for lot of away from home on a nice aircraft-
The ACMI contracts are not in Germany-
didnt pass
