Hello,
My instrument rating will expire in a month , I want to know if I renew it few months after it's expired , the validity will be one year from the date of expiration or from the date of examination? ?

If you’re talking EASA it’s valid for 12 months from the end of the month in which you successfully passed it. However, you can revalidate up to 90 days prior to expiry and preserve the original expiry + 12 months.

Remember, as it will have lapsed then you will need to be assessed as to how much training will be required to get you “back up to speed.” Better to do it before it expires if you can.
