How should I spend it??

Hi.

Here's the dillema...

Have FAA CPL(H).
Studying for JAA conversion.
May have about £15k to spend, (due to property sale).
In full time employment - but not happy!
Want to fly professionally.

Should I...

Buy share.
Do FAA CFI.
Fly loads of hours.
Do Bell course.

Any ideas welcomed!

If you can work in this country (USA) and be here a while I think you should go the CFI route to build up your time. You should also work on your IR if your ultimate goal is offshore, ems, exec transport.

There are a few operators in the LAX area offerring B206 time starting at $120 and hour, 25 hour blocks per week.

I think it all depends on your ultimate goal - so state it !!!

I've taken a few graduate level courses that covered personal development. It's important to have a development plan and follow it. Even Da Vinci had a personal development plan !

Really don't mind what or where I fly! Maybe thats the problem...

Had thought along similar lines, CFI and the IR....

The Canadian Looney does make it a good deal, but beware!

I trained in Canada (B.C, lots of time in the rock pile) and it does give you a good skill level (for the hours), but the only thing that out numbers the trees, is the legions of unemployed helo' grads looking for that first slot. If you do go, then head West. If you don't train in the mountains, then your "slim chance" becomes "waffer thin". The most honest sales pitch I've read was from VIH on vancouver island that states "most CPL-H graduates will never find work in aviation" . :( .
That said, you couldn't stop me with an elephant gun. That job, WILL BE MINE!!!
