Hello all,

Currently holding ICAO Canadian CPL IR/ME

Looking to convert to EASA JAA CPL IR/ME (with) fATPL

Just wondering what lies ahead of me if there's anyone out there who converted.

Hoping to have about 250 TT after the conversion for a decent paying job in EU. I heard and think jobs are easier to find starting out there but i honestly have no clue.

(Could also obtain my Seaplane rating in canada while im here for cheap, but dont think converting would be easy or cheap. let alone finding a job with such low hours doing seaplane related jobs...)

Any thoughts or questions are appreciated.

Thanks

I did this 4 years ago. The training centre (school) had to write a conversion proposal to local authority, which the authority had to approve. It involved a bunch of flight checks and the flight exam (similar to what you did ab inito). I suspect there might be an easier way, but that's how I did it. I understand the school was trying to make some money from me this way, but I needed to convert and they were the only ones who bothered helping. Other training centres weren't interested, presumably being too busy milking their their integrated ATPL cash cows...
