W 7 support.....Essential to switch, or not?

My Win 7 64 keeps telling me that it is falling out of love with me, and that by January, it thinks our relationship should be over.
I remember when Mixture was a regular on here, he would say that you have to switch when Moneysoft takes away support. He had no time, and quite a few interesting words for those that did not move on.
I am pleased that I did not move on to 8, and have been happy to avoid 10 and its various problems.
Does anyone have a real take on the risks of keeping 7?? (Understanding the risks, rather than being, er, obstinate)

We're upgrading the work machines as GDPR goes out the window if we don't use up to date PC's. We've managed to find a free upgrade still too which has saved us £xxxx!

I'm not sure if you use is professional or personal and how dependent you are on computer access.
My advice is that I would bite the bullet and change as soon as you reasonably can within in your own budget and timeframe, because one day, it might be months or even years but something just won't work.
It may be a browser can't get security updates or another piece of software that you use, but sod's law with be that it will happen at the most inconvenient time and force your hand.
I speak as someone who's backup is a 10 year old laptop running Windows Vista. It's fine for a bit of internet and email on the road but on a daily basis would drive me around the bend. Security is the biggest risk and certainly no online purchases!
Built in obselescense is a fact of life in technology today unfortunately.

Thanks for your replies. I have also looked at that older thread that Repos referred to.
I guess I will back up the important stuff again - family piccies, emails that we have to keep, music, and so on, and get my local techie to do the necessary.
I think I will use a "pro" as over the years, this 1tb pc seems to have accumulated lots of crap. I wish I had a magic wand, but some of it will have been me stupidly copying stuff. He can clean it up while installing 10!!
