To all former personnel from RAF Gatow, BRiXMS, US Army in Europe Berlin Brigade Aviation Detachment,3 deacdes on a year ago today marked 10,316 days since the Berlin Wall came down. Up to that part it stood for 10316 days.

Great info. I hadn't seen it elsewhere. Greeting to all Berlin vets! Mind you the french had aviation guys there as well and even their own airport: Tegel. Both for transport/liaison and local observation flights. In the very early post war days when Tegel hadn't been built they used Stolpe airfield north of the city limits. While the Brits had to trade in Spandau West for Gatow and it's airfield.

Erm.... die Mauer passed the it's-been-down-as-long-as-it-was-up point in February 2018.
