Two people have died after an ultralight aircraft crash in NSW.

Police located the wreckage and two bodies on Patterson Road in Woodville, north of Newcastle, about 12.20pm, NSW police says.

The victims' identities and the type of aircraft is not yet known.

Another website is reporting it was in a “corridor” around Williamtown controlled airspace. I don’t know if this is true, but if so, it might be relevant to other threads on that subject.

While a severe turbulence sigmet was active. The worm is not the place you want to be in turbulence.

According to Channel 7 news just now it was a glider. Didn't say if it was powered or unpowered. Apparently reported problems 20 minutes after takeoff.

A trike / microlight from Maitland apparently. An eyewitness said that the wings folded.
