Inspiring pax confidence! When crew asked about the speed tape holding things together they explained it was to stop the flaking paint. Haha!!

I’ve seen it before and though the same, it looks ugly. You’re average Jetstar pax wouldn’t even notice, let alone give a hoot.

I assume the aluminium tape is an approved temporary repair method.

Common place for paint to peel, for some reason, it is hit and miss whether the paint adheres to especially the panel at the wings root for some reason.

Speed tape is a good thing, as it protects the underlying composite material. Most airlines i've seen just leave it and then end up with erosion to the skin of the panel and then have to replace it.

To fix properly the panel has to be removed and fully sanded back and then painted as per the AMM/SRM and manufacturer of the paint requirements, not a five-minute job especially if the paint has flaked off before.
