Dear All,

Would be nice to hear opinions (pros, cons) on using KBFI Boeing Field as a potential tech-stop.

Traveling mid-December.

Thanks Much

Boeing Field has 3 FBO's to choose from, Signature, Modern Aviation (formerly Clay Lacy Aviation), and Kenmore, any of which can provide needed services. I personally prefer Kenmore, their fuel prices are lower, excellent service, but they are perhaps less "fancy" than the others. There is US Customs there if you need a port of entry, but I have no experience with that. The Customs ramp is between Signature and Modern, maybe closer so you only have to park once, I don't know. Whichever you choose, always a good idea to call ahead for details.
My only negative thought, December weather can be thick fog, but not often below ILS minimums, but, then, anywhere along the Pacific NW of US can be that way, on a bad day, an alternate may be miles away.
Cannot really think of any real cons against choosing KBFI.

Signature at BFI fairly friendly and helpful to me in a twin piston. Posh facility and they have free tickets to the Museum of Flight if you ask nicely.

We use Boeing Field on a fairly regular basis as a tech stop for our trips to and from Asia. There are no real negatives to be honest, good FBO, we use Modern Aviation, plenty of runway with ILS, sea level elevation and temperatures are usually moderate. Also for us Gulfstream have tech support in the area. The only downside we have come across on one or two occasions is the attitude of the customs agent. Depending as to who is on duty you may find yourself in the hands of an overly officious customs agent, but to be fair this has only happened a couple of times, for the most part the agents are courteous and friendly.
