According to aussieairlines.org, early QANTAS 742’s had JT9D-7A’s. Then later models before the Rollers came along had the -7F(W) engines.
But airfleets list the Qantas -238’s having the -7J’s. As does this article :

So....What did they use after the early -7[A’s?)? Was it the -7F or -7J’s? And were those versions with the 785,000lb GW or the regular 775,000?
Any help greatly appreciated (as I can’t sleep at night not knowing :p).
